My experience as a speaker has a beautiful full circle nature to it.

In middle school, my dad prepares me for assignments in my public speaking class by challenging me to memorize, never use a note sheet or note cards. He emphasized the importance of speaking to the audience, telling them a story, rather than reading to them.

Around the same time, I developed a love for filmmaking. Any project where I had the option to make a video, I would. This continued throughout college.

During middle school throughout high school, I studied art as well. This gave me an appreciation for aesthetic and beauty, and how one presents oneself across any medium.

Funny enough, what is acting if not a combination of those 3? Speaking to the audience, memorized, and doing it in a beautiful and aesthetic, meaningful way.

So what’s directing and writing then? The two specific parts of film that I love? Writing that beauty and telling someone how you’d like it to be spoken.

I’m able to motivate others because these experiences and various genres all stuck with me, they’re what I used to motivate myself. When I watch films and TV shows, I take them to heart - scenes, characters, quotes, you name it.

As Harry Potter once said in The Order of the Phoenix - every great witch and wizard in history started out here just like the rest of us - as students.
